Masks and Channels

To create a mask in Photoshop, open up an image and under the layers panel you click add layer mask, this will pop up as a silhouette next to your desired image. You can save a mask for future reference by going to select on the toolbar and save selection. As for channels, the colour setting in Photoshop is Red, Green and Blue or RGB for short. For example clicking off RGB and Green will give you purple which is red and blue mixed together.
