Stephen Jones Virtual Culture

The book describes the way technology affects modern society. People are so reliant on technology such as computers and the use of the Internet, should it ever break down, everything suddenly grinds to a halt.

Thanks to the convenience and open access to a wide scope, people can communicate to others all around the world on websites such as forums, this is well as the traditional means of communication of face to face contact.

Page 38 of the book details that “In cyberspace, we tend to be bolder, riskier, sometimes more rude, sometimes more kind”, this can relate to different types of computer users, an example can be on social media where users are less likely to be identified thanks having control of their accounts.
