The last part of the lesson saw a mini playthrough of Bioshock. 4 of our class took turns to try the game while we took down notes of how it functions and how the above points are related. I feel like the game didn’t allow much freedom to explore as enemies ambushed the player almost constantly, the arrow pointing to the objective was helpful but sometimes a distraction. The AI gave some useful tips at important moments, ie. enemy profiles, entering a new area. I felt a sense of Immersion (the confined spaces made it seem as if the player themselves were in the game world).
