Lesson 6 October 27 2015

Today we accessed the software Mudbox, this is a separate and downloadable software and can be linked up with Maya.

This exercise we learnt about creating a rock shape using a cube.

Here is the user interface and object in the middle of the scene, you can mess around with the object using tools such as sculpt, smooth and grab to manipulate the shape.

I tried to replicate an image of a rock from Google Images, but I was not satisfied with the outcome. Although the shape has texture, it doesn’t really represent what the object is meant to be.

I found the task to be fun although the software tends to crash if you put too many polygons which can be a nuisance.
