Jean Baudrillard- The Gulf War did not take place

The Gulf War took place from August 1990 to February 1991, the catalyst was that Saddam Hussein, leader of Iraq at the time invaded neighbouring Kuwait for oil, as it is a very costly product which prompted swift retaliation from the USA, allies of Kuwait.

Baudrillard is misquoted into thinking the war didn’t take place, a controversial view from a controversial philosopher but as in fact there is so little media coverage that it may not have been a war but more of a simulation.
