Virtus Learning Hub’s Youtube Tutorial on Loading Screens.
While browsing through my game, I noticed one particular key element was missing. And that is a Loading Screen. This particular screen is used when the player is transported to a different part of a current level or different level altogether. In my case, a different level.
In order to create this screen required a Widget Blueprint to be constructed. The text and sky background is similar to how I created the Start Menu and Pause Menu.
In order to get the Load Screen to work properly, the event graph required a ‘Create Loading Screen Widget’ ‘Add to Viewport’ and ‘Delay’ to be created.
The Loading Screen Widget tells the program what blueprint to load up. Add to Viewport displays this on the screen and Delay in seconds is how long the screen is displayed.
